Here's the thing about blank pages...

They're supposed to be full of possibility. But somewhere along the way, they started feeling like judgment.

You open your sketchbook with good intentions, stare at it for ten minutes, then close it feeling defeated. You scroll for inspiration and end up more stuck. The gap between what's in your head and what shows up on paper? Exhausting.

What if your sketchbook could just be fun again?

That's what Sketchbook Bootcamp is about. Permission to be messy, experiment wildly, and fill pages without the weight of perfection on your shoulders.

You're probably here because...

👉 Your sketchbook feels more like a graveyard of abandoned starts than a celebration of creativity.

👉 You're scrolling for inspiration but somehow ending up more stuck than when you started.

Here's the thing: too much freedom without structure is actually a creativity killer. Our brains need constraints to spark something new.

You don't need more inspiration. You need a framework that helps you show up and actually finish things.

A 7-week creative reset to help you fall back in love with making art

By the end, you'll have a sketchbook full of finished work and proof you can show up consistently.

Every Saturday

At 9am Pacific, we meet live. I teach techniques, we work on projects together, you ask questions. These workshops are where the magic happens! Replays included.

Twice a week

You get creative direction: a prompt with three difficulty levels (easy, medium, hard), plus creative playwork inspired by our live workshops.

The entire time

You're surrounded by a community sharing messy pages, offering feedback, and cheering you on.

Every prompt comes with three levels so you can meet yourself where you are. Pick easy when you're short on time. Go hard when you want to push yourself. Switch it up week to week. The point is to keep creating, not to prove anything.

But there's more than just a subject:

Each prompt includes a feeling to channel (cozy? wild? melancholic?), a medium (or combo) to experiment with (e.g. something wet + something dry), a color palette to guide you, and an optional random item to throw in for fun.

Structured enough to get you started. Loose enough to make it yours.

Did you know...

Too much creative freedom can actually freeze your brain?

When you're faced with infinite options, you end up scrolling for 30 minutes with no idea what to make.

But when you have constraints - a color palette, a focal subject, a time limit - your brain shifts into problem solving mode. You stop worrying if your idea is "good enough" and just make it work.

Constraints don't limit creativity. They unlock it.

That's what every prompt in Sketchbook Bootcamp is designed to do.

Hey, I'm Peggy

I created Sketchbook Bootcamp because I've been where you are... staring at blank pages, feeling stuck, avoiding my sketchbook because the pressure to make something "good" was paralyzing.

The problem wasn't my skill. It was the lack of structure.

So I started giving myself weird little challenges. One day, stuck staring at a blank page, I grabbed two colors and just started painting random swatches. No plan. Just color. By page three, those swatches had evolved into a full taxonomy spread I never intended to make. It was simple, satisfying, and totally unstuck me.

That's when I realized: constraints aren't limiting. They're freeing.

This program is everything I wish I'd had when I was drowning in blank pages. Let's fill some pages together.

Year after year, this is the program people ask for most

LAUREN T

As weird as it sounds, this helped me to understand better the phrase "your sketchbook is to play". I logically got it, but seeing the process in real time with reflection and notetaking made it all click.

KIM K

Peggy is the master of art exercises and prompts. I have loved taking your sketchbook bootcamps over the years for all of these tidbits.

The best part for me is that you have made me comfortable enough to reach out to you for specific answers. I feel that you truly care about us. Thank you!

I think this Bootcamp is absolutely the best value for your money! You get so much, and you learn through practical projects. Peggy is a great teacher, and the community is welcoming and fun. Can’t wait for the next one!

LISA L

Peggy Dean is relatable. She, in spite of her great success, hasn't forgotten where she started or the insecurities we all face when we bring our art out into the world. The information she presents is laid out in a clear fashion and the amount of resources she supplies has exceeded my expectations.

RAQUEL G

Some of my usual struggles now make no sense because of the workshops and techniques I am learning here.

It's always been a struggle to get things in my art journal. I just hold them too precious to “mess up” but this was exploring, note taking, and pretty art all in one 😊

CANDICE W

Malia E

I can’t believe how many things I’ve learned thanks to this Bootcamp. I’m so grateful for all you have taught us Peggy!

Throughout the course of Sketchbook Bootcamp, I think I’ve maybe finally found my style. I’ve learned to embrace my wobbly lines and make them purposeful and stylistic.

CAITLIN V

ANDREA S

So much fun painting with Peggy. I laughed and played and was so relaxing. Can’t wait for the next one.

NANCY D

AMBER S

Peggy always over delivers and never disappoints! I'm always surprised at how much knowledge and fun she packs into one course or bootcamp.

This was such a good way to start off my new sketchbook. Happy I committed time to this - really got me into my flow! Thanks Peggy!

JESSICA W

KATHY C

KRISTA R

I loved Peggy’s prompts because I’m often not very creative with ideas for what to put in sketchbooks.

Is Sketchbook Bootcamp right for you?

I'll never sugarcoat it. I want you to get the most out of your decisions as you invest in your creativity!

Got a question?

I've got answers.

What are the dates?

October 18 – December 5, 2025. Live workshops every Saturday at 9am Pacific.

How much time will this require?

2-4 hours each week. You can break it into 20-30 minute chunks throughout the week to make it manageable.

When are the live workshops?

Glad you asked. This part is my favorite 😍

All workshops will be held Saturdays at 9:00am Pacific Standard Time.

Workshop dates:

  • October 18
  • October 25
  • November 8
  • November 15
  • November 22
  • November 29
  • Bonus: December 5 party!
What time zone are the workshops in?

Live sessions are in Pacific Time. You can use google to convert time zones!

Are replays of the live sessions available?

Of course! We don't want you to miss out on creative ways to use all sorts of techniques. Live replays will be available within a day of the stream (usually within a couple hours), and you can watch them at any time and work on the projects that we tackled.

What level of experience do I need?

Short answer: Any!

This isn't about skill. It's about showing up and experimenting. The three difficulty levels mean you can meet yourself exactly where you are.

Sketchbook Bootcamp is perfect for anyone ready to overcome creative blocks and unlock their artistic potential. Whether you’re just starting out and feeling stuck or an experienced artist looking to reignite your inspiration, this program is designed to help you break through barriers and make meaningful progress.

Rather than skill level, the approach focuses on dedicated time and structured support, so you’ll find valuable insights and strategies regardless of your current skill level. If you’re committed to pushing past creative hurdles and enhancing your art practice, this is for you. Period. Mic drop.

What supplies do I need?

Ahhh if this isn't the ultimate question. Here's the kicker - you can work with exactly what you have already. My programs aren't meant to be restrictive. If a particular prompt “requires” any particulars that you don’t have, you have permission to make creative decisions to use the next best thing that you do have!

That said, we’ll be dabbling in a lotttt of mediums during Bootcamp, so if you do want to make sure you’ve got goodies on hand, here’s a list of what I love using in my sketchbook!

For quick reference, these are the main supplies I prompt with:

  • sketchbook
  • watercolors and/or gouache
  • paint pens
  • colored pencils
  • ink pens
  • markers
  • wax pastels/crayons
How much does it cost?

$159 for the full 7-week program with lifetime access

Are discounts available?

Good news! We've worked hard to make sure every lesson and resource you get is jam-packed with value. The best part is that with Sketchbook Bootcamp, it's already priced to be as accessible as possible (less than most single-day workshops!) 🥳

Are subtitles available?

You can turn on live captions in your browser during sessions (here's how). All replays will have built-in subtitles.

How long will I have access?

If you're unable to create with us daily, not to worry! You'll have lifetime access to revisit prompts and connect with your peers!
