Tiny compositions
Complete several sunset Polaroid paintings, each with its own composition and mood
A watercolor class for all skill levels
Three tiny paintings. A whole lot of golden hour.
Paint three sunset compositions in a darling Polaroid format, each one teaching you the washes, layering, and color blending that make watercolor finally click.
What you'll make
Three watercolor sunset paintings in a Polaroid format, each one a different composition capturing that golden, end-of-day light.
Working small means every brushstroke counts, which turns out to be one of the fastest ways to actually get good at watercolor. You'll finish all three paintings in one sitting and walk away with a little collection that looks like it took you way longer than it did.
What's inside the class
This class challenges you to reinterpret your compositions, since creating art on a smaller workspace challenges you to focus on the essentials, sharpen your skills, and think outside (er… inside?) the box.

Color mixing and blending for warm, vibrant sunset palettes that actually look like a sunset
Create depth in a tiny format without overworking the paint
hey I'm Peggy
I've spent over a decade teaching watercolor to artists at every level. I love the Polaroid format because it takes all the pressure off. When the canvas is small, the stakes feel small too, and that's exactly when the best painting happens. These three sunset compositions are some of my favorites to teach because the color payoff is immediate and the techniques you pick up along the way are ones you'll use forever!
As I expect from Peggy's classes, I learned something fun and super gratifying in one short sitting. The polaroids were a fun break from the standard paper canvas. I want to take this idea and paint a million tiny landscapes!
Peggy possesses a rare combination of being an exceptional professional and a talented teacher. She has the ability to simplify complicated subjects and present them in a clear and concise manner. I have taken numerous courses, but hers stand out as the best.
Practice makes progress. I'm so happy with this little polaroid from Peggy's class. It might have been the first time that I actually painted along, and I'm proud of trying something new.
Nope. Each workshop teaches the techniques it uses, so you're always building as you go. That said, if you already paint, you'll find plenty to enjoy here too.
The class includes a supplies guide, but honestly you can use whatever you have. I go over a lot of color mixing goodness so a few watercolors and a few round brushes will get you there!
Just a little over an hour! Each Polaroid is designed to be completed in one sitting. You can work through all three in a single afternoon or spread them out however you like.
You'll enjoy lifetime access to the course so you can learn at your own pace and revisit the content whenever you need a refresher.
