Peek Inside My Studio

Peek Inside My Studio

Are you, like me, curious about what other people's work spaces look like and peek inside their set up? I thought so 😉. It's been a while since I showed you around my studio and how I organize my space has changed a lot. And as a cute bonus, I'm also going to share my favvvv supplies, tech and more!

Let's dive in!

The Tech Stuff

I set up my desk in a way that allows to work on the boring admin stuff as well as create. Unfortunately, I've been spending a lot of time on the wrong side lately - but I'm determined to change that (anyone else?).

I love having two screens as it makes my workflow so so much easier - if you haven't tried it and, like me, you work on multiple things at once, I highly recommend using a bigger monitor in addition to your laptop or iPad.

Desktop office set up

I’m not exaggerating when I say I bought and returned FOUR monitors. I’m crazy picky so having the best picture was very important to me. This monitor is the one I ended up keeping and I’m so happy with it! (I also just realized when grabbing the link for it that it’s HALF THE PRICE I paid for it!! 😮)

Desktop set up for voiceover recording

I love using an external microphone for live calls in The Flock, meetings and to record voiceovers.  I've upgraded to this microphone a few years ago and have been using it ever since!

Some other tech things I love using are my Cam Link USB for hooking up the camera for recording directly into my recording software, a ton of external HDDs (can you ever have too many?) - my fav is this Seagate one, this speaker (because I am never happy with a speaker) and my trusty USB hub because Apple refuse to give us more ports.

Some other quick essentials for filming content that I use all the time:

But what if you need a versatile tripod to film your process on your phone as you go? Well, my absolute favorite for that (and I know many creatives share my opinion) has been this lamp/tripod/phone holder/fun thing. It's super easy to use and gives you lots of great camera angle options. If you haven't seen me unbox it yet and what to know what the set up experience is like, check out this blog where I talk you through the whole thing. And if you want to snag one for yourself, use the code PIGEONLETTERS10 for 10% off! Cool huh?

Planning & Organization

When it comes to organizing my time, I am a super visual person. I tried a lot of methods but what I found to reeeeally work for me is this beautiful, minimalist-looking acrylic calendar that hangs on my wall. I use it to plan events, launches and so much more - perfect to give you an at-a-glance view of everything you have coming up. And detailed planning? I've got a monthly calendar for that, too! Trust me, it really works.

And because I love all things acrylic (they just look so simple but sophisticated, ya know?), I have been loving my acrylic pen holders - and I get asked about them a lot because they are just so practical. You might also want to grab some acrylic trays while you're there because wow are they handy to keep everything nice and organized.

Psstt...yes, all my drawers are from IKEA. Don't judge.

Art Supplies

Let's be real - there are too many of them to go over individually, so I've prepared a 52-page guide for you with alllll of my favs.

The Fun Stuff

When you're planning how to set up your space, don't forget to grab a desk buddy or two - they'll be there to silently cheer you on and they're also just plain cute mkay? The two I have are a ceramic rabbit clown handmade by meee, and the circus cat is from Skippy Cotton.

If you know only one thing about me, it's probably that I love tea. No joke. I am obsessed. So obsessed that I have a whole DRAWER in my cabinet, filled with tea. I've recently added this tiny kettle to my office and it's made my tea-making process so much easier because, well, it's just there! Tea for everyone!

And of course, I need somewhere to brew the tea, right? While I love adorable handmade ceramic mugs, my all-time-favorite-mug award goes to my office staple, the Ember mug. I'm not joking when I say this mug has been a game-changer. I know it's pricey, so hear me out and prepare for your life to be changed forever.

I'm one of those people that gets so stuck into whatever it is I'm doing that I forget about the world happening around me. And I also forget about that delicious tea I made that has now gone completely cold 😔 Enter Ember - an expensive solution to my problem, but one that has made my tea drinking experience the best ever because my tea stays at my preferred temperature (you can set the temperature yourself!) ALL DAY LONG. If that's not magic, I don't know what is (it's tech, but isn't it just magical?).
